Oculoplastic Surgery is cosmetic and reconstructive procedures on the eyelids, orbit (bones and anatomic structures behind the eyeball) and lacrimal (tear drain) system.

Most of the aging changes occur around the eyes. An ophthalmic plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon of the eyes can best address the cosmetic issues in the face as they are familiar with the eyelids, microincisions, working under microscopes and precise suturing techniques.

Entropion and Ectropion
Entropion is a condition in which the eyelid is turned inward (inverted), causing the eyelashes to rub against the eyeball. Ectropion is a condition in which the eyelid is turned outward (everted) so that its edge does not touch the eyeball.
Nasolacrimal duct Obstruction
Blocked Tear Duct (Nasolacrimal Duct Obstruction) A blocked tear duct occurs when your nasal passageways cannot properly drain tear liquid from your eyes. You may have itchy, irritated or watery eyes. Sometimes, babies are born with blocked tear ducts. A clogged tear duct may heal on its own, or you may need surgery.
Dacryosistitis
Dacryocystitis is inflammation of the lacrimal sac which typically occurs secondarily to obstruction within the nasolacrimal duct and the resultant backup and stagnation of tears within the lacrimal sac.
Botox

Botox is a drug that weakens or paralyzes muscle. In small doses, it can reduce skin wrinkles and help treat some medical conditions.
Botox is a protein made from Botulinum toxin, which the bacterium Clostridium botulinum produces. This is the same toxin that causes botulism.Botox is a toxin, but when doctors use it correctlyand in small doses, it can have benefits. It has both cosmetic and medical uses.
As a cosmetic treatment, Botox injections can reduce the appearance of skin wrinkles.
Also, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have approved it as a treatment for various health issues, including eyelid spasms, excessive sweating, some bladder disorders, and migraine.

Ocular trauma
• A broad term used to describe a physical or chemical wound to the eye or eye socket.
• Most commonly, this occurs when something scratches the eye. Exposure of the eye to toxic chemicals or major trauma can cause more severe eye injury.
• Symptoms vary depending on the type of injury, but may include eye pain, eye redness or discomfort when moving the eye.
• Treatment varies based on the severity and type of injury. Most cases should be evaluated by a doctor. Chemical injuries require immediate attention.
Ocular oncology

Ocular tumors are tumors inside the eye. They are collections of cells that grow and multiply abnormally and form masses. They can be benign or malignant. In adults the most common type is metastatic, from another part of the body (lung, breast, prostate, etc).

PaediatricOculoplasty
Just as with adults, children can be affected by several issues that involve the tear ducts, eyelids, and orbital region.Oculoplastic surgery can address these problems by not only restoring visual function but restoring appearance.
While it is common for some younger children to develop ocular conditions that eventually resolve on their own, persistent and/or severe cases of these conditions will require a procedure to correct them.
Common pediatric conditions requiring oculoplastic surgery include:
• Congenital Tear Duct Obstruction – Tearing and/or discharge in one or both eyes that occurs shortly after birth. This condition is often treated medically but may require surgery to open the tear duct in cases that fail to resolve spontaneously after 1 year of age.
• Droopy Eyelids (Ptosis) – Pediatric eyelid ptosis is usually congenital and presents itself shortly after birth, although surgery may not be performed until between 3 and 5 years of age. However, persistent or severe drooping may need to be addressed earlier to ensure development of normal vision.
• Tumors – Children can develop both benign and malignant tumors around and behind the eye, both of which require urgent attention to delineate urgency of treatment.
Other issues that may require oculoplastic surgery include:
• Matting together of the eyelids upon waking
• Swelling next to the nose and lower eyelid
• Swelling above the eyes or on the outside corner of the eye
• Bulging of the eye
• Displacement of the eye
• Bruising around the eyelids
Enucleation and Eviseration
Enucleation is an acceptable surgery for end-stage ocular diseases which are not curable with medical treatments, such as inexpiable trauma damage, intraocular malignancies and phthisis bulbi. In enucleation surgeon removes the whole eyeball, whereas in evisceration sclera and extraocular muscle are left intact and is mostly accounted as a cosmetic procedure.
Ocular enucleation is accounted as the last resort for end stages of many ocular diseases like ocular malignancies or other clinical causes leading to a painful blind eye. Evisceration is another alternative which is mainly a cosmetic procedure and is used when a malignancy does not exist[1]
Dermatochalasia
DermatochalasiaDermatochalasis is a term used to describe the presence of loose and redundant eyelid skin. It is a common sign of periocular aging and is often seen in middle-aged and elderly people. Although more dramatically seen in the upper eyelids, dermatochalasis can also affect lower eyelids as well.
The standard treatment for dermatochalasis is blepharoplasty, which tightens eyelid muscles and tissue, and removes excess fat and skin. If dermatochalasis is not causing vision problems, surgery is usually unnecessary, unless it is requested for cosmetic reasons.
Prosthetic eye
Ocular prosthesis is an artificial eye, which is implanted in patients who have lost their eye due to various causes such as trauma, surgery, cancer, or in patients with shrunken damaged eyes (phthisical eyes), congenital absence (anophthalmos) or abnormally small sized eyes (microphthalmos) with no visual potential.
